Fans are polarised, but we’d suggest the sensible ones are having absolutely none of it. Sturridge is a proven, top quality striker who scores goals every single time he gets a run in the side. We’ll need him this season; the fact he’s currently a sub is irrelevant considering the number of games coming up.
If we want to go for the defender, fine – but not at the expense of Sturridge.
Fans suggesting otherwise have very, very short memories.
