Steven Gerrard retired yesterday and tributes have flooded in from all over the world for our legendary former captain.
As a result, this story from earlier in the week feel by the wayside somewhat!
Gerrard’s next move in football revealed
Working for BT Sport covering Celtic’s loss to Barcelona, Gerrard boldly claimed that Lionel Messi was in fact the greatest player of all time – let alone right now – following the attacker’s brace in Glasgow.

During the debate after the game, his former Liverpool team-mate Steve McManaman declared that Cristiano Ronaldo was on the Argentine’s level, but it’s pretty obvious Gerrard thinks this opinion is as ridiculous as we do!
McManaman: “Cristiano is on Messi’s level.”
Gerrard’s reaction is priceless 😂

For us, it’s not even a debate. Ronaldo is an incredible but nobody on the planet can tie Messi’s boots – that’s including Luis Suarez, Neymar and whoever else.
