Reds striker predicts tough Bournemouth test as he prepares to face a former teammate

Today’s trip to Bournemouth became even more important the minute Chelsea pulled off an impressive comeback to beat Manchester City yesterday.

Striker Divock Origi is prepared for a difficult contest this afternoon as the Reds look to close the gap on Antonio Conte’s men at the top of the league.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “It’s a football-playing team – very brave, even against the bigger teams they are not afraid to play football.”

“They have quality players and also my ex-teammate and friend Jordon Ibe is there so they have a good team. We’ll have to be at our best to beat them, but it’s certainly possible.”

All eyes will be on Origi again as the Belgian forward looks to fill the void left by the injured Philippe Coutinho.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for another strong performance from the 21-year-old after he scored in recent wins against Leeds United and Sunderland.

Jordan Ibe is one man Origi knows all about. The 20-year-old will come up against his former teammates for the first time since leaving the club to join Bournemouth in the summer.

The winger’s quality is no secret to Klopp’s men and he will undoubtedly be out to make Liverpool’s trip to the south coast as miserable as possible.

Ibe is one of many Bournemouth players capable of troubling our defence which is why Origi will need to be close to his very best.

It is time for him to step up and take his chances in front of goal at a time when we need him most.
