Adam Lallana has been brilliant all season, but individually this was his best outing all 2016/17, which is saying something…
The 28-year-old scored our first and last goals and assisted our second v Middlesbrough, all of which was done with composure and aplomb.
Breaking from the middle, his technique and bravery on the ball was noticeable, but he’s now adding genuine, consistent end product to his game.

This season, he’s scored and assisted six goals apiece – that’s actually one more in each category than Coutinho in the same amount of Premier League starts.
Before his injury, many were stating Coutinho had been the Player of the Season so far, and Lallana actually plays further back than the Brazilian.
The reaction here is not hyperbole. He was that good tonight. After the game, ‘Lallana’ was the biggest trending term on Twitter, and here’s some of our favourite comments.
Adam Lallana the best player on the pitch by a mile tonight. Offensively and defensively. Lucky to have him.

MOTM Lallana scores the 3rd for the Reds. Not just the goals, he helped midfield to build up and ran to help Milner every time ? !!
