Round two on the cards; Reds fans will love Carra’s second reason for wanting Liverpool to beat Everton

A potentially fierce Merseyside derby needs to be played first before we get the chance to see Jamie Carragher’s second reason for wanting Liverpool to win actually come into practice.

It doesn’t get much better than beating Everton as far as being a Liverpool fan is concerned, but Jurgen Klopp getting another opportunity to have a go at Gary Neville comes close.

In his latest column for the Daily Mail, Carragher said: “Apart from my footballing loyalties, we always get the winning manager to do an interview with the studio on Sky’s Monday Night Football, so another Liverpool victory will mean Jurgen gets a second chance to go on the attack with Gary!”

“He started the week defending Loris Karius and then attacked the Neville brothers. Given the fact I had heavily criticised Karius twice and Gary and Phil did it once apiece, it made the attack (which he now says was in jest) even better!”

Klopp coming out and defending Loris Karius in the way we did is why he is loved by Reds fans so much.

He is so important to not just the way the team plays but the manner in which it plays and the mentality that the players have heading into each fixture.

Expressing his faith in Karius and showing his support for the 23-year-old is exactly what the keeper needed given the circumstances. He managed to divert the attention away from the player taking a shot at Neville without drawing any criticism towards what he was saying himself.

We would be more than happy with just a win on Monday night, anything more would be a bonus.
