Klopp says Liverpool fans ‘scared’ him; makes request for next match

Jurgen Klopp wasn’t a fan of the flares thrown onto the pitch when Liverpool scored our last minute winner against Everton on Monday night.

The manager was obviously delighted with Sadio Mane’s goal which clinched us a vital three points, but admitted feeling a but worried about the pyrotechnics.

“It was not the hardest shot from Sturridge but hard enough,” the Reds boss told BBC Sport. “Wonderful feeling. Really, really good. I don’t like the flares too much. I’m a little bit scared about this. It was a long, long stoppage time. We gave them no chance.”

On camera, the flares looked brilliant, because they made it look like our players were celebrating in the mist, but you can understand Klopp’s concerns. A flare could have hit a player, which would have tarnished the fantastic celebrations.

On the other hand, we don’t want to stop fans having fun as there’s enough restrictions put on supporters now – not to mention the price of tickets to football matches.

Where do you stand on flares at the ground, Reds? Will the boss have to get used to them or should we nip them in the bud?
