There is something special about this group of players and their desire to be successful.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has taken to looking into the past from time to time as added inspiration to his already obvious determination to lead his team to success.

He has the influential figure in a team of ambitious and extremely talented players fighting to achieve big things at this club.

In an interview with the Telegraph, he said: “The main reason we play is because we love it and you have to take yourself back to when you first started and what you wanted to achieve. When you were younger. And it’s the same now. So hopefully we can achieve that. It’s done to us to make it happen.”

“We are striving to be the best team in the league and then the best team in Europe. So it’s not only this season but years to come. You have to keep wanting more. It’s no good winning one trophy and that’s it. You have to want to improve – I keep saying that and maybe it’s boring – but that’s what it is about.”

If the first few months of the season are anything to go by then we have reason to be optimistic about where this team is heading, not only because of the level of talent at the club but also because of the harmony and the shared ideologies.
