Liverpool’s Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino had his house burgled on December 22nd, it has been revealed by the Daily Mail, in what has become the latest in a string of footballer burglaries in the North West.

The 25-year-old and has family had £70k worth of jewellery, watches and clothes stolen by the gang, who are as of yet unidentified.

Firmino has been staying at a hotel since, with Liverpool providing him personal security after the incident which has left him shaken up.

Our no.11 was charged with drink driving on December 24th, two days after the attack – and while it’s by no means an excuse – it does provide an insight into the striker’s mindset at the time.

Since the two incidents, Firmino has actually been in top form, winning Man of the Match against Stoke on December 27th and putting in a strong performance against Manchester City in our New Year’s Eve win.

He was left out of the lineup that drew with Plymouth yesterday, but he’ll surely play versus Southampton in the midweek EFL Cup semi-final and in next weekend’s Premier League clash with our biggest rivals Manchester United.
