Alberto Moreno with classy attitude that is certain to impress Reds fans

Alberto Moreno has been the forgotten man at Liverpool since the early stages of the season but has not let that stop him from working hard behind the scenes in order to fight for his place at the club.

The Spaniard is determined to improve and reclaim his starting spot having seen James Milner impress at left-back for most of the campaign.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “I’m still the same player that I’ve always been. So that means I work, both on the field and in training, in the same way.”

“I’m always at 100 per cent, really giving it everything I’ve got in every training session, always working to the limit and the maximum all the time.”

“What you need to do then is try to show the manager that you’re ready, I want to demonstrate that I’m ready for whenever he calls on me, but I respect that it’s his decision who plays.”

“It’s true that I’ve not had as many opportunities this season, but I’m still the same player and still working hard and that’s what it’s all about – keep positive so that when you are called upon, you’re ready.”

The competition for places appears to have seen not only Moreno but the entire squad step up the effort in training in an attempt to break into a talented starting lineup.

Healthy competition is exactly what this club needs, especially at this stage of the season when the team has been hampered by key injuries, Sadio Mane’s departure for the African Cup of Nations and the incredibly busy schedule the players must deal with.

There is a route back to the first team for Moreno if he continues to demonstrate his desire to do just this by putting in the hard work and doing everything he can to improve his game. The time will come when Klopp deems it necessary to make adjustments to his team which is why the former Sevilla man is doing the right thing by making sure he is ready.
