Liverpool may get a new right winger this January after all…

Liverpool’s on-loan winger Lazar Markovic is having such a bad time of it at Sporting Lisbon, he might have his loan cancelled, according to Portuguese media, which has been picked up by the Echo.

Media outlet Record claim that Sporting are considering cutting their losses on the Serbian, who’s failed to impress so far in 2016/17.

We signed Markovic on the basis of his performances for Benfica, but he’s failed to replicate it in the same league – scoring just one goal since the start of the season.

Klopp nails Liverpool’s left-back situation

Liverpool have been linked to multiple wingers this January due to Sadio Mane being absent at the African Cup of Nations, but for whatever reason, Jurgen Klopp has decided to stick with his current options.

It’s clear the boss doesn’t fancy Markovic, because if he did, the 22-year-old wouldn’t have been sent on loan in the first place.

Sporting paid cash for Markovic’s loan, so it would be a testament to his failure if they chose to send him back to Merseyside early…

Even if this does happen, we can’t see him playing a part in our season. Klopp’s not a fan, and the boss is ruthless with players he doesn’t rate.
