Gary Lineker was one of many well known pundits who put the boot in on Jurgen Klopp after our miserable FA Cup defeat to Wolves on Saturday lunchtime…
We fielded a rotation side because we’d just played Southampton and had Chelsea in three days’ time, but the players chosen put in an abysmal performance and deservedly lost 2-1 to the struggling Championship outfit.

We’ve now lost our last three matches at Anfield and are in somewhat of a crisis, having picked up just one win in eight during January.
Lineker said Klopp’s decision to rest players before tomorrow’s Chelsea clash showed a disrespect to the FA Cup and a ‘lack of knowledge’ about the depths of English football.
Don’t get Klopp playing his reserves with no European football. Shows a lack of knowledge of the depth in English football and respect.

So? You’re out of both competitions. That worth it? https://t.co/dMTb3fkKjR

All for giving young players a chance, but not all at the same time. It’s counterproductive. https://t.co/YOxPiuzjJw

For us, the team selection wasn’t the problem – the performance was. We still had Gini Wijnaldum, Lucas, Alberto Moreno, Ragnar Klavan, Loris Karius and Divock Origi starting – that’s more than enough senior talent to down Paul Lambert’s Wolves.
All of those players would walk into his side, so it’s their performance, not their being selected, that made us lose.
Regardless, the first-team will return against Chelsea and if we stop the rot and beat the title favourites, Klopp will be forgiven.
