When Liverpool signed Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Anthony Le Tallec in 2001 we were told we’d secured the two best young players in the world…
Sadly, they never fulfilled their promise and have endured journeyman careers since leaving ourselves.
Le Tallec is at Greek nobodies Atromitos, while his former partner in crime (and cousin) is plying his trade in Thailand for Chainat Hornbill after a failed spell at Dundee United!

Liverpool sent scouts to watch this 19-year-old Brazilian dribbler versus PSG at the weekend
Both are now 32, which surprised us considering they were turning out for Liverpool way back in 2004 – with Sinama-Pongolle scoring a goal in our memorable comeback win v Olympiakos in the Champions League…
And now, he’s probably scored the best goal of his career for Chainat, channeling his inner-Rivaldo (who also scored in that Olympiakos game…) to set himself up for a bicycle kick with his chest and fire in.
What a goal!
Quem aí lembra do Sinama Pongolle, ex-Liverpool, Recreativo, etc? Pintura dele pro @Chainat_FC na segundona tailandesa hoje ? pic.twitter.com/XPIrgorlYC
