Liverpool ace travels to Germany to see knee-specialist; Leicester preparations rocked

Lucas is likely to continue at the back alongside Joel Matip next Monday, with Dejan Lovren flying to Germany to see a specialist regarding his persistent knee problem, reports the Mail.

The 27-year-old has missed our past two fixtures with the injury, but it’s proving difficult to shake and Liverpool have taken the decision to get it sorted instead of the Croat continuing to play through the pain.

Lovren didn’t travel to La Manga for Jurgen Klopp’s mid-season training camp, but the Melwood physios decided it best to send him to see an expert after failing to get him back on the training pitch.

Lucas was dependable against Tottenham last time out and we have no doubts he’ll do a good job against Leicester as well, but it’d still be nice to have Lovren back. Our best defensive performances this term have come when he’s partnered Matip at the back, but hopefully his trip to Germany will sort him out.
