Let’s face it, something like this was bound to happen.
First and foremost, it was great to see Mamadou Sakho enjoy such a solid full debut for Crystal Palace and find himself on the end of some praise for the first time in a while. Even if he was to blame for his own downfall at Liverpool, it was refreshing to see him look focused and hungry again.
The Frenchman caught the eye as he helped Sam Allardyce’s side to a first clean sheet since December 3 with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.
It remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp still has plans for the centre-back when the summer arrives but at least he is finally playing football again and getting back to full fitness in the meantime.
Strong performances from him between now and the end of the season can only be viewed as a good thing as this will help Liverpool get more money if selling him permanently remains to be the aim.
Until that is decided, Palace fans can enjoy what he has to offer.
Many took to social media to hail his efforts and question Liverpool’s decision to let him leave.
Can’t get over how well Sakho played today, no idea what Liverpool were thinking letting him go ??

I genuinely can’t believe Liverpool loaned us someone as good as Sakho ???

If we stay up, throw everything at Sakho. If it has to be like 25 million… do it.

When Sakho’s lone comes to an end, can we send Sako back to Liverpool. They’ll never notice. Right?

Pay Liverpool £20 million right now for Sakho regardless of whether we stay up. #cpfc
