Pulisic’s comments on Liverpool will go down very poorly on Merseyside

Liverpool have always held out a small hope of eventually persuading Christian Pulisic to sign for Liverpool, but now, the possibility looks miniscule.

The American teenager currently plies his trade in Germany for Borussia Dortmund and recently penned a lengthy contract extension.

Now, he’s claimed he never even considered joining Liverpool (we made an offer last summer) and sees his future at the club he ‘loves’, Dortmund.

“I have respect for Klopp and I know him – he was very welcoming to me here – but I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool,” Pulisic said, reported in the Echo.

“Dortmund have given me everything. If I work very hard here I will play and I love this club.”

Ousmane Dembele, Pulisic’s Dortmund team-mate, has also recently spoken out about rejecting Liverpool via FourFourTwo, which is not what Liverpool fans wanted to hear after our miserable performance on Monday evening against Leicester.

This summer, we need to recruit very, very well. It’s obvious to everyone that the current bunch overachieved before Christmas and are not proven winners, unable to get the job done when the going got tough.

In fairness, Pulisic and Dembele are teenagers, and it’s high time we signed some established talent.
