Reliable journalist: Liverpool definitely want 27-goal forward & Bundesliga’s best midfielder

Liverpool have a genuine interest in Naby Keita and Alexandre Lacazette and will do everything they can this summer to attain the duo.

That’s according to Mirror correspondent Dave Maddock. While he’s not as trusted as James Pearce, Chris Bascombe and the like, he knows his stuff.

Maddock claims we’ve been watching the Frenchman, who’s bagged 27 goals this term, for the past three years – and have already sounded out Lyon about a summer deal. We’re likely to face intense competition for Lacazette’s services, but Jurgen Klopp recognises a striker is a priority following Roberto Firmino’s recent slump and the fact Daniel Sturridge has lost his legs.

We’ll face similar competition for the superb Naby Keita, who’s been exceptional in Germany for Red Bull Leipzig this season having arrived from Red Bull Salzburg, Sadio Mane’s former club.

Keita and our winger share the same agent, which could help in negotiations for the 22-year-old sensation. Keita is an all-action midfielder who can either play as an anchorman or an energetic box-to-box one – very similar to Chelsea’s N’golo Kante.

Capturing both would represent a brilliant start to the summer for Klopp and Liverpool ahead of 2017/18.
