If you offered us this at the start of the season, we’d assume we’d be absolutely waltzing our way to a debut Premier League title!
This term, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have won 19 points from top six rivals – far more than the country’s best teams.
We’ve only won 52 in total!
Our 3-1 victory against Arsenal today added to the tally… Wins against Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City have helped and in fact, we’ve yet to lose to a top six side all campaign.
Of course, losses against Burnley, Bournemouth, Hull and Leicester ruin the record, although our ability to turn up and dominate the best is unrivalled.
As the graphic shows, league leaders Chelsea are next with 13, while Arsene Wenger’s Gunners sit sixth with five. This will surely cost the Frenchman his job come the end of 2016/17.
For Liverpool though, it’s same old. Brilliant against good, offensive sides – tragic against lowly defensive ones…
If we learn to bully the lesser sides next term, we’ll be a serious force to reckon with.
