Liverpool’s likely XI v Burnley, with 4 key players out injured

Liverpool take on Burnley on Sunday evening, in what’s undeniably a must-win fixture for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Today during his press-conference he alerted us that Roberto Firmino had joined the list of potential absentees, along with definite outs Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge. Dejan Lovren is training, but is still considered touch and go.

“Sturridge and Henderson not available. Roberto Firmino struggles a little, felt something after the game and this week he couldn’t train, so we need to wait a little bit more and see,” Klopp said, cited in the Echo.

If he’s not training on Friday, the Brazilian won’t be playing on Sunday, which is a shame as he was fantastic against Arsenal last weekend.

His and Sturridge’s absence though gives Divock Origi a chance through the centre with the first-team stars around him and we really hope the young Belgian takes it with both hands.

In goal, Simon Mignolet will continue, with Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner and Joel Matip certain to start in the back-four. The other spot will likely be Ragnar Klavan’s, although Lovren has a slight chance.

Emre Can anchors the team in Henderson’s absence, allowing Adam Lallana and Gini Wijnaldum to start either side.

Up top, Coutinho and Sadio Mane will flank Origi, who hasn’t scored in the Premier League this calendar year.

Predicted XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Milner, Matip, Klavan; Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana; Mane, Coutinho, Origi
