Confirmed: LFC want six-goal left-back, but deal is not yet done

Yesterday, football.London reported that Liverpool had all but won the race for the signature for Fulham’s wonderkid defender Ryan Sessegnon – beating Arsenal and Chelsea in the process.

The 16-year-old has been incredible in the Championship this term, registering four goals in the league and two in the FA Cup.

For a 16-year-old striker this would be impressive, but for a left-back, it’s incredible.

However, the reliable James Pearce of the Echo has stated that while we re ‘considering a swoop,’ a deal isn’t finalised.

Last summer, we went for Leicester’s teenager Ben Chilwell in the same position, so it’s clear Jurgen Klopp is desperate for a teenager to develop and grow into this role.

Pearce’s report states Alberto Moreno is likely to move on, with the Spaniard only getting two Premier League starts all season.

James Milner is likely to stay, but we can’t imagine Sessegnon would be challenging for his position immediately.

It’s more likely that if we were to buy him, we’d send him back to Fulham. If he’s starting for them already, it’s the best place for him to develop.
