LFC want Hawaii striker with £10m release-clause; 5 goals this season…

This is a pretty uninspiring transfer rumour, isn’t it?

Liverpool have been linked with USA international forward Bobby Wood, who was born in Hawaii.

He currently plies his trade for Bundesliga strugglers HSV, who are battling relegation this term.

According to German outlet Bild, translated by the Echo, Wood has a £10m release clause and is interesting Jurgen Klopp as a result.

Wood’s scored five goals this term but at 24-years-old, is clearly not the top-notch forward we need to be acquiring this summer.

In truth, the link fills us with dread that this is the kind of striker we’ll look to bring in, without wanting to be too disrespectful to the attacker.

With Daniel Sturridge expected to leave, the Englishman will need replacing, but Wood isn’t in the injury-ridden forward’s league.

Liverpool require a striker who can compete with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diego Costa at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts.
