One could easily be mistaken for thinking Daniel Agger still played football professionally judging by his performance in Saturday’s Liverpool Legends match.
He was as cool and composed as ever on the ball, looked to be still in great shape and rolled back the years with a solid display alongside Jamie Carragher at the heart of the Liverpool defence.
There were plenty of Anfield greats on show but Agger certainly didn’t go unrecognised as fans relished the chance to see a player many felt left Liverpool too early.
He popped up on the right wing at one stage following a bursting run from defence while also beating two players with some impressive footwork just outside the Real Madrid penalty area on another occasion.
It was a tackle on Colombian forward Edwin Congo, however, that proved to be a stand out moment for the Danish centre-back.
