‘No better feeling’- LFC stars celebrate emphatic derby win and prove they know how much it means

It can’t be underestimated just how important it is to Liverpool fans that the players know how much a win in the Merseyside derby means.

Not only is it three points, not only does it help build momentum but it is bragging rights for the next few months until the two city rivals clash once again.

The reaction from players on social media after the game and their incredible work ethic and fight during the match itself poses as proof that each and every one of them is aware of the occasion’s importance.

It was the perfect way to return from the international break and set the tone for what is expected throughout the remainder of the season. Supporters can take confidence from the fact Jurgen Klopp’s men were by no means at their best.

Let’s enjoy it while we can. Champions League football is something this team needs and something this team can secure, providing the performances levels don’t drop off again.

For the time being, though, we can thank the Reds for making our weekend.

The players were quick to take to social media following Saturday’s game with teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold celebrating a win on his derby debut.
