Liverpool reckon that Mamadou Sakho’s excellent form for Crystal Palace can earn us as much as £30m for the Frenchman this summer.
The centre-back, who was frozen out by Jurgen Klopp following a string of misdemeanours, has excelled for Sam Allardyce’s side since joining on loan in January.
Palace have climbed out of the relegation zone thanks largely to his form, but he still has no future at the club.
However, the Echo claim that we will ask for a whopping £30m for the 27-year-old, who’s drawn interest from Napoli and Southampton as well as Palace.
This will help us pay for a new centre-back ourselves, with Virgil van Dijk a possibility.
The Dutchman is one of the Premier League’s best defenders and with Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip already at the club, we’ll be well endowed at the back – especially with Joe Gomez developing so nicely with the Under-23s.
