(Image) 59-goal striker bolsters Liverpool’s attacking options

Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has returned to training at the perfect time with a worrying injury update on Sadio Mane suggesting the Senegalese forward could miss the rest of the season.

Sturridge hasn’t played since the 2-0 defeat to Hull in February but looks set to be available for Wednesday evening’s clash with Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old has been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season but is expected to be handed another opportunity to have an impact in the club’s pursuit of Champions League football.

It promises to be a decisive stage of the season for not only Liverpool but Sturridge himself as he looks to prove to other clubs and perhaps even his current employers that he is still capable of being a top Premier League striker.

There are only eight games left to play. Eight games for him to stay fit and make the most of every minute he gets on the pitch. Eight games to give it everything he has.

A top four spot is a must and he has the talent to help the club achieve this.

Sturridge was pictured back in training having recovered from a hip problem and a virus before that.
