Slaven Bilic’s West Ham want Lazar Markovic and could offer the Serbian winger a permanent way out of Liverpool this summer.

But luckily for us, Dominic King in the Daily Mail states he’ll cost them £16m, which would recoup a large amount of what we spent on the transfer flop back in 2014.

“West Ham, meanwhile, are interested in signing Lazar Markovic, the Liverpool winger currently on loan at Hull. Slaven Bilic is a fan of the Serbia international, who would cost £16million.”

After a difficult first season in which Markovic spent most of his time warming the bench, he moved to Fenerbahce on loan in 2015/16 but failed to prove his worth there either.

This season we offloaded him to Sporting Lisbon, who terminated his loan spell, before Hull borrowed him until summer 2017.

He’s clearly surplus to Jurgen Klopp’s requirements, so a £16m fee would be very nice indeed.

We’re also chasing £30m for Mamadou Sakho (via Echo) and a likely large sum for Daniel Sturridge as well, so Klopp’s coffers will again be heavily boosted by player sales.

Elsewhere, we could get cash for Alberto Moreno and it’s likely Kevin Stewart will want to move on.
