Henderson & Lallana’s return dates named by Klopp

Jurgen Klopp today confirmed that Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana are on their way back, but will not be ready for the weekend’s tie with West Brom.

Both have been in America for rehab on respective injuries, and we fielded a makeshift XI v Stoke at the weekend as a result of our best players, including Sadio Mane, being absent.

On the skipper, Klopp claimed he could be training next week, but worryingly felt the need to let us know Henderson could only play ‘a few games’ – intimating that he’s not going to have a big part in our crucial next six – which will define our season.

“It was clear from the beginning that it was not a fixed term. We are still waiting. He feels nothing but we have to make steps so that he can be part of team training,” the manager told a press-conference.

“It could be next week in training or the week after. I’m pretty sure he could have a few games.”

Annoyingly, Lallana will be out slightly longer, with the boss claiming he’ll only get back to training in the week following April 23rd.

“Adam will be back in training after the Crystal Palace game,” he said.

We know that Klopp never rushes players back due to his obsession with peak physical fitness, so it’s sadly looking like the pair may only become options for our final two or hopefully three matches. Of course, they could be crucial ones – so it’s very important they return ASAP. Both still get into the starting XI, despite Emre Can’s form.
