Daniel Sturridge put in a blistering cameo performance against Sydney today, backing up his impressive end to the Premier League campaign.
Not only did the Englishman open the scoring with a classic right-footed finish, but he assisted Roberto Firmino’s goal as well – slicing the fullback to shreds in the process.
When he’s fit, or at least fully match-fit, the 27-year-old is as good as anyone in the business and a huge asset to us. Getting him to a level which Jurgen Klopp is happy with has proven easier said than done, of course – but there’s been signs he’s re-finding his sharpness.
Has it come too late, or can Sturridge prove a continues success at Liverpool?

IF (The biggest IF of all time) Sturridge stayed in peak condition next season, there’s no striker we can buy who’s better than him.

Final stance on Sturridge – keep him for the first half of the season, on training plan, and see how he pans out. He’s still got it.

I know Sydney FC look like League 2 standard, but Sturridge looks quick! He’s sprinting, jinking, turning, taking people on. I love it! ?

@empireofthekop If Sturridge is fit and can stay fit there’s not many better than him full stop never mind buy.

@empireofthekop If THIS is the Sturrdige that we could have next season, we would be incredibly naive to let him go. Injuries or not.
