Luis Garcia compares ‘amazing’ Liverpool man to Philippe Coutinho

If Adam Lallana wasn’t already of what an outstanding season he has just had, comparisons between himself and Philippe Coutinho should help.

Istanbul hero Luis Garcia has paid tribute to the midfielder following undoubtedly his best and more productive season for Liverpool, in which he scored eight goals and emerged as an influential figure for the Reds.

Lallana thrived as part of a central midfield trio, well and truly justifying the £25million that the club paid to sign him from Southampton in 2014.

Garcia has praised the England man for finally proving his undeniable talent and has tipped him to improve even more under Jurgen Klopp.

“We had been waiting for Adam Lallana to explode and now we have seen what an amazing player he is,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“Like Coutinho, he is a special player who can do everything – from nowhere they can score a brilliant goal or play a brilliant pass. He is good with the right and the left, he is fast and he has got the ability to dribble past players.”

“This year we have seen his best, but I think he can continue growing. He is one of those players that in the next couple of years we’re going to see as even more of a top player for the team.”

Lallana has been integral to implementing the high intensity style of football that has helped Liverpool become one of the most formidable attacking forces in the Premier League.

His all-action displays saw him become a surprise defensive asset in terms of enhancing the team’s ball retention as well as a valuable contributor to the work carried out by the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho.
