Monchi admits super attacker likely to sign for Liverpool

Roma Sporting director Monchi has admitted Mo Salah could leave, but claimed that no other players are for sale, and that the Egyptian will be replaced.

It’s very well documented that we’re in discussions with the Serie A giants for Salah’s services, having already agreed on £90k/week wages with the player.

We reported earlier that Roma are looking to bring in players themselves, and it’s clear that Monchi wants to warn the rest of Europe off his strongest assets.

“We don’t intend to sell players and we want to give the boss a competitive squad,” Monchi told Football Italia.

“As to the two names mentioned, it’s true that some people like them. An English club likes Salah, and we’ll decide what price to set depending on the circumstances.

“There are no offers for Rudiger and there’s no chance that he’ll go.

“As I’ve said before, Roma is not a supermarket. We’re starting from the second place we just achieved, and we’ll fight for our goals.

“If someone leaves, he’ll have to be replaced well. There are no open talks apart from Salah.”

Some might suggest this looks like a deal is far off, but for Monchi to be discussing the sale of his side’s best player at all proves it’s likely to happen.

There’s been no official leaks from Liverpool recently, but that’s because the club is being very careful who it shares information with following the Virgil van Dijk debacle.

This one’s getting close and we can’t wait to see Salah wearing red and leaning up against a random wall at Melwood.
