Van Dijk likes cryptic tweet; hints at anger towards Southampton

Publicly, Virgil van Dijk has been silent since Liverpool had to pull out of the race to sign him after his parent club Southampton reported us to the Premier League.

Scared of potential sanctions, FSG issued an apology and stopped our pursuit in its tracks, much to the dismay of Liverpool fans everywhere.

Having already set his heart on a move to Anfield though, the bodged transfer must have upset the Dutch defender as well – as his moody plane snap following the event signalled.

Now, he’s liked a tweet from Liverpool fan and YouTuber Manny, which encouraged his followers to ‘question if those close to you really want what’s best for you’ – a signal that Southampton are holding him back.

At EOTK, we’re pretty sure the van Dijk deal will be resurrected later in the summer.

The defender wants to come and Jurgen Klopp is desperate for him to join. Providing the player himself kicks up some kind of fuss and perhaps hands in a transfer request, Southampton will have little choice but to do business, even if they’re likely to ask for an absurd fee.
