Brace yourself Liverpool fans for some rubbish left-back news…

Are Liverpool going all out for that superb, left-footed left-back we’ve been craving ever since Jurgen Klopp took charge?

Nope.

James Pearce of the Echo has delivered a rather depressing update which suggests that Alberto Moreno could stay at the club, with the Spaniard not yet accepting his fate is sealed.

We want £15m for his services and won’t sell for less, having rejected an £11m offer from Napoli last week…

Until somebody reaches the price we want, we’re not going to enter the market to buy a replacement, the article suggests.

If that wasn’t disappointing enough, Pearce reckons that Hull City’s Andrew Robertson has shot up the list of contenders, with the far more impressive Faouzi Ghoulam and Kieran Tierney not targets.

We don’t mean to be disrespectful to Robertson, but he’s not the elite level left-back we so blatantly require.

Klopp has huge coffers to strengthen this summer, but is again ignoring a position that to everyone else is a priority.

We can only ask, why?
