Germany waltzed into the final of the Confederations Cup last night with a 4-1 win over Mexico.
They deployed a very mixed XI, with Emre Can on the bench originally, eventually coming on for two-goal Leon Goretzka (who’s been linked to Liverpool) in the 67th minute.
However, in his 25 minutes, Can performed superbly, registering an assist in the dying minutes as Germany put polished on a largely underserved result.
Can will hopefully feature in the final before enjoying a short break and then joining up with Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team-mates for pre-season…
The club need to get his new contract signed, pronto.
