Mo Salah will be joining up with his new Liverpool team-mates in the coming days after a slightly elongated holiday and his manager cannot wait to work with him…
Jurgen Klopp has waxed lyrical about Salah and paid special attention to his physical traits, which will undoubtedly add more dynamism to our frontline.
At times we tore teams apart in 2016/17, but without Sadio Mane, often lacked spark in the final third and somebody who liked to run beyond the last man.
“Even if people didn’t know too much about him, they [must have] watched a few videos and they are impressive,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com.
“We have had a few talks of course, spoke to each other – he is a really nice lad. He is really looking forward to coming to Liverpool and joining us.
“He is a fantastic player, with speed. We said after last season, there are a few things we would try to involve in an already really good squad; one of the things is speed, being kind of a finisher, preparing chances, making goals and all that stuff. He brings all this in.
“He is a naturally fit boy – he can run as quick and as long as he wants. That’s all good. I’m really looking forward to [working with him].”
The thought of Mane and Salah on each wing is very, very exciting, to be honest. They both pride themselves on directness and end product, which should combine brilliantly with the guile and creativity of Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
If the Egyptian can get anywhere near the 19 goals he scored for Roma last term, he’ll look an absolute snip at £36.9m – especially considering the going rate for decent attackers.
