Journalist claims Keita to LFC is ON and predicts irresistible third offer

A trend of conflicting Naby Keita news has continued, with the latest reports suggesting a deal for the midfielder is still possible.

RB Leipzig recently rejected a second offer from Liverpool of £66million and, in the process, reaffirmed an adamance that their star man is not for sale.

That said, it is expected that the German club’s firm stance will be tested by a mammoth third offer from the Reds, potentially surpassing the £70million mark.

Foot224 journalist Amadou Makadji, who has emerged as primary source of Keita developments, has issued a reassuring update contrary to the belief that a deal is looking increasingly unlikely.

A series of tweets by the Guinean translate back into the following: “The Naby Keita transfer has entered a decisive phase. The lights are green for the transfer of the Guinean to Liverpool.”

“After having rejected 2 offers from Liverpool, Leipzig will struggle to resist a third offer of €80m, having too much choice.”

“In the face of the determination of the Reds and Naby to leave, the German club is about to give. Next week will be decisive.”

It’s been made no secret that Leipzig do not want to sell nor do they need to sell, although it remains to be seen how their stance would be impacted were Liverpool to meet the reported £70million asking-price.

The extent of such back and forth reports makes uncertainty over what to believe understandable and, in turn, justifies approaching every supposed fresh ‘development’ with caution.

What is certain, however, is Keita’s desire to leave the 2016/2017 Bundesliga runners up in order to join Liverpool.
