Naby Keita’s cryptic Liverpool hint sparks fan frenzy

Liverpool target Naby Keita has abided by the conventions of the ridiculous modern day transfer market and fuelled rumours linking him to an Anfield switch.

The Guinean proved just how potent social media activity can truly be as he followed Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and a Firmino fan page on Instagram- of course signifying he is joining Liverpool. If only.

Reds were inevitably quick to react, with many continuing to brush aside RB Leipzig’s insistence he will not be sold and instead using Keita’s desire to work with Jurgen Klopp as good reason to believe a deal is possible.

Liverpool have already seen two bids rejected for their priority target, the first of £57million and the second of £66million, and are currently considering whether or not to table a third offer.

It has also been suggested that the club could drop all interest for now and instead return next summer when Keita’s £48million exit clause can be activated.

A deal is looking, admittedly, unlikely at this stage, although it will be interesting to see how a third bid, if it hasn’t already been made, impacts Leipzig’s stance.
