Gini Wijnaldum scored his first goal away from home for Liverpool on Saturday as he doubled his side’s lead against Hertha Berlin.
The Dutchman put the Reds 2-0 up in the latter stages of the first half following Dominic Solanke’s headed goal earlier on in the game.
Liverpool’s opening goalscorer followed up his strike by playing a key role in his side’s second, forcing a Hertha defender into the mistake that eventually led to Wijnaldum’s calm finish.
Solanke remained cool under pressure after winning the ball back, feeding Sadio Mane inside the box who then turned provider for the eventual scorer.
Though the Bundesliga side had their fair share of chances in the first half, Liverpool posed a constant threat going forward and proved to be clinical at the moments when it mattered.
Here’s a look back at Wijnaldum’s strike…
