Brazilian star resurfaces as LFC target… after £26million bid was ‘accepted’

As RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita jumped off the Liverpool transfer rumour mill, a host of players seemingly hopped on as imminent Anfield arrivals- or so some reports have had Reds believing.

Brazilian star Luan was previously dubbed a summer target for Jurgen Klopp and after speculation somewhat disappeared, his name has since returned to the surface.

Turkish side Fenerbahce are keen to secure a deal for the Gremio forward, thereby giving Liverpool a fight for his signature, according to Foot Mercato, per the Mirror.  Not the most convincing, right?

Doubts over such reports undoubtedly stem from the fact Luan was rumoured to be Christian Benteke’s replacement 12 months ago, before recently being labelled as a replacement for Daniel Sturridge- who looks increasingly likely to stay put on Merseyside.

The 24-year-old has been tipped as the next Ronaldinho with the Barcelona legend himself vouching for his fellow countryman’s talent.

Liverpool had supposedly seen a £26million bid for the versatile forward accepted in May having ‘met with his representatives’, although that inevitably failed to materialise into solid evidence of a deal in progress.

Defensive reinforcement sits high on Klopp’s list of recruitment priorities at the moment, with a proposed move for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk leading the way.

Bringing in another attacking option seems extremely unlikely at this stage and even if the Reds were to, the chances are that it won’t be Luan.
