Coutinho to do ‘whatever it takes’ to leave Barca; will ruin LFC reputation forever

Coutinho is desperate to complete a summer switch to Barcelona before the transfer window closes in just under 20 days’ time.

The Brazilian’s transfer request was rejected immediately and officially by Liverpool, who remain adamant that Coutinho will not be sold before September for any price and that he’ll be reintegrated into the team when he regains fitness.

(Not that we’re entirely convinced he really does have a back problem, it has to be said…)

However, Sky Sports report that Coutinho will not accept our reaction and will take further, inflammatory measures to force our hand into selling him to Barcelona.

The Spaniards have had two bids rejected, but are likely to now come in with a third of over £100m that would make our 25-year-old the second most expensive player of all time behind Neymar, who joined PSG a few weeks back.

Jurgen Klopp says he’d have sold Coutinho if his playmaker had alerted him of his intention to leave at the beginning of the summer – but now – there’s simply no time to replace him.

At the moment, Coutinho can save his reputation, by knuckling down and giving us one last season before leaving next summer. If he continues to act so disrespectfully though, we’ll have Raheem Sterling Mark II on our hands.
