What happened when Saints fan asked VVD, ‘What about LFC?’ in restaurant

A Southampton fan is claiming he had an encounter with Virgil van Dijk in a restaurant which ended on a sour note as soon as he mentioned Liverpool…

The Dutchman has handed in a transfer request but so far there’ve been no official bids for his services, although Chelsea are expected to submit one shortly.

The supporter, using the pseudonym LeBizzier69, claimed that he bumped into the centre-back with his daughter while out in Southampton.

He fan wrote on SaintsWeb: “Double V D has just been having dinner with three of his entourage a few tables down from us. Took daughter over to his table after she wrote “don’t go” on a napkin.

“Seemed nice enough until I said he was too good to go to Liverpool. All went a bit quiet then. That virus cleared up fast.”

Obviously, we can’t vouch for the reliability of the user, but if someone was conjuring a story from thin air, they’d surely add a few juicier details!

Van Dijk is likely to leave St. Mary’s after his inflammatory statement which accompanied his request.

Coutinho hasn’t made one and has instead communicated his feelings through agents and family, in an attempt to leave Liverpool on a positive note. If he thought that was possible when submitting a request the day before the season starts though, he’s been terribly advised.
