LFC want to sign South American CB [18] (Who already plays for ‘Liverpool’)

A number of tabloids, including the Star, are running a story which states Liverpool and Chelsea have been scouting Uruguayan starlet Sebastian Caceres.

The 18-year-old is already a starter for Montivideo based club Liverpool FC, which proves Caceres is destined for Merseyside!

The defender is meant to be very composed on the ball and is being targeted by a number of top European clubs.

Caceres also has a Spanish passport, meaning there’d be no work permit implications, like there have been with Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza, for example.

We’ve never seen Caceres play in truth and would be far more interested in Liverpool signing a central defender who could immediately bolster our backline.

As is every Liverpool fan we’ve spoken to since the beginning of the summer, actually.

Liverpool have experience of Uruguayan centre-backs named Sebastian, of course! Coates arrived at the club in 2011, but only made 12 Premier League appearances in total until he was sold permanently to Sunderland in 2014. He’s now at Sporting Lisbon, where he’s trying to resurrect the career he damaged in England.
