Why Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t played yet – Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has suggested Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will play against Leicester City from the outset tomorrow evening.

The £35m signing has yet to start a game, but has come off the bench three times in a row since his deadline day move.

The boss hinted that while the Englishman will play at the King Power, he’s still learning what it takes tactically to be a Liverpool player.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity now for Alex. He had an impact when he came on, now you have three of the line up!” referring to Danny Ward and Marko Grujic, who Klopp also said would play.

“But there’ll be no rushing him…

“We work with him and analysts, show him how we want to play in this position, that position. It’s really good that he’s here.”

We’ve signed Ox as an option for both advanced midfield roles (ahead of the holding man) and on either flank, too.

The player himself would prefer a role centrally, so we predict we’ll see him and Grujic ahead of a no.6 in Liverpool’s central three on Tuesday.

Hopefully he can impress, as so far he’s not had the opportunity to properly show us what he’s capable of.
