LFC ‘contact’ Inter Milan about CB transfer

We’d be pretty excited if Liverpool were going after the world-class Miranda, but this transfer rumour is not quite as juicy, sadly!

Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport has today claimed that Inter Milan are trying to quickly force through Zinho Vanheusden’s contract renewal, as Liverpool have already been in contact regarding our interest in the player.

Vanheusden is 18-years-old, Belgian and plays at centre-back – currently knocking on Luciano Spalletti’s door for first-team opportunities.

The report suggests Liverpool have already contacted the Italian club, who are growing increasingly nervous as the teenager’s contract expires next summer.

He’s yet to put pen to paper and we’re waiting in the wings should the player prefer a move to England.

It’s not potentially top centre-backs Liverpool need, of course.

Our failure to strengthen this particular area in the summer is nothing short of criminal.

And it’s costing us dear already this season.

It’s not necessarily that Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren are not good enough (although there’s certainly evidence to suggest that), but that one of them is usually injured.

If their backup Ragnar Klavan is playing regularly in the Premier League, we’ll never achieve anything.
