Sadio Mane says all the right things…

It feels like our early season changed the minute Sadio Mane was sent off at the Eithad.

We were coming off the back of walloping Arsenal 4-0 and although we’d conceded first to Manchester City, had been the better side.

In the two matches he’s missed so far, we’ve failed to beat Burnley in the Premier League and Leicester in the Carabao Cup.

But Mane is still confident we can enjoy a terrific campaign, bullishly stating that on form, we can beat anybody (which under Jurgen Klopp, has been proved right time and time again).

“Honestly, it is too early to talk about the title,” Mane told ESPN FC.

“We are not focused on other teams, just on ourselves, and we know we can beat any team in the league.

“These kind of results [no win in four games since the Arsenal victory] can happen in any team, but we will do our best to change the situation.

“We will try to take it game by game, and why not win it at the end?”

Our Senegalese flyer is suspended for tomorrow’s trip to the King Power Stadium, but will play midweek against Spartak Moscow and will again be available for the weekend tie with Newcastle.

Then, we have to sit out another mind-numbing international break, but have the return of Adam Lallana and Manchester United to look forward to on October 14th…
