(Video) Harry Wilson channels inner-Dirk Kuyt to score for U23s… again

Harry Wilson continued his sparkling form on Friday night with another goal for Liverpool’s U23s.

The Reds started their Premier League Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Charlton, with Wilson providing the equaliser minutes before half-time.

A tap-in from close range served as the forward’s sixth goal of the season- a tally that has built on an impressive 2016/2017 campaign in which he found the back of the net 28 times.

The goal had shades of Dirk Kuyt smashing home from less than one-yard out during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester United in 2011.

Matty Virtue also deserves recognition for his role in the build up, with his clever turn on the left-hand side creating space for him to put in a cross that wasn’t dealt with by the goalkeeper, leaving Wilson to fire into an open goal.

Aside from the result, it marked another valuable outing for Danny Ings as the striker looks to rediscover his top form in aid of breaking back into the first team.
