Bayern about to appoint a new manager… & it’s not Jurgen Klopp

We already knew, despite the predictions of some bookmakers, that there was zero chance of Jurgen Klopp joining Bayern Munich – who are without a manager since firing Carlo Ancelotti…

Instead of Liverpool’s boss switching allegiances, or Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann being given a chance, the Germans are going to offer the job to Jupp Heynckes, report Sky Sports.

The 72-year-old has already had three spells at Bayern before and would become one of the oldest managers in Europe, leading many to question whether this is an ambitious appointment when 30-year-old Nagelsmann would have surely jumped at the chance.

For Bayern, Heycnkes has serious pedigree though. During his last stint in charge, he won the treble in 2013 which included the Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup.

His nearly signed contract is said to run out at the end of this season, so perhaps then we’ll see rumours of Klopp’s Liverpool departure mooted again…

Surely though there’s no chance Klopp would abandon us mid-project to join the traditional enemy of Borussia Dortmund, the team he managed for seven years before joining us.
