Whilst grappling with Barcelona with one hand, Liverpool might be required to fight off Paris Saint-Germain with the other.
It appears the French giants couldn’t resist the temptation, with reports suggesting they are now eyeing up a move for Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian was keen to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but saw his transfer request have no impact and the Catalan club’s three bids firmly rejected by the Reds.
PSG are now pushing to sign Coutinho, with Neymar keen to play alongside his national teammate and close friend, according to Sport– who may as well have a daily column dedicated to the No.10.
The same reports suggests the Ligue 1 club are prepared to match any offer Barcelona make, which is a given anyway when considering their spending power.
Until Coutinho dyes his hair blonde like his fellow countrymen Neymar and Dani Alves, both at PSG, then Reds need not worry.
As it stands, Liverpool have another season of the former Inter Milan maestro, with owners Fenway Sports Group having let off no signs to suggest they will abandon their firm stance when the window re-opens in January.
PSG were always going to come into the mix, especially after the mess Barcelona made of trying to falsify how the Coutinho saga truly panned out.
With Spanish publication Sport at the heart of the latest development, there is every chance this is another method of trying to push Barcelona to step up their efforts once more.
