Suso scored a brilliant goal for AC in the Milan derby last night and Liverpool fans reacted accordingly.
The Spaniard got into Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool first-team as a teenager, but couldn’t maintain consistent performance levels and was eventually offloaded to Italy on the cheap as his contract was expiring.
He’s now 23 and one of Serie A’s most promising young playmakers.
Many Reds think we handled his situation poorly and came out of the woodwork to state they always rated him following his curler!
At EOTK, we think it would have been smart to insert some kind of buy-back clause into his deal, but can understand why he was offloaded when he was.
Suso simply wouldn’t have got the chances at Anfield that he has at the San Siro and wouldn’t be at his current level without the move.
Sometimes, you just have to do what’s best for a young player’s career and not worry too much about profit.
Despite his obvious talent, he still wouldn’t get in our side ahead of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Coutinho – although the suggestion by one fan that he’s an upgrade on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is up for debate.
Always liked him, shame we got rid of him quick, hardly had a chance to play

Liverpool should’ve put a buy-back clause in Suso’s contract when they sold him to AC Milan.
In fact, they should’ve never sold him in the first place!#MilanDerby

Suso is so fucking good. I rated him so highly at Liverpool, should’ve been given more of a chance at the club.
