Many Liverpool fans have been mightily unimpressed by Virgil van Dijk since his return to the Southampton side.
Yesterday, he made his first home Premier League start since his transfer request and enjoyed/endured a mixed afternoon in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle.
Squawka highlight his impressive stats from the game, but watching Liverpool supporters were much less complimentary.

92% pass accuracy

The Dutchman is still trying to reach his peak level following a lengthy injury, and there’s still suggestions he’s lacking motivation – which shouldn’t be an excuse really considering he’s a professional.
It certainly doesn’t look like he’s worth the mooted £70m, anyway, but if Jurgen Klopp wants him that badly, we’d obviously be happy the money is spent.
Liverpool may still go in for the 25-year-old in January, although we don’t know if the Saints will be any more willing to sell.
Dejan Lovren has been decent in recent weeks, but we’re obviously still crying out for a new centre-back, considering Ragnar Klavan is waiting in the wings should the Croat or Joel Matip become unavailable.
