Sky give Liverpool fans good news…

Sky will not be moving Liverpool’s fixture with Arsenal to Christmas Eve, it’s been confirmed by Paul Joyce.

Instead, the fixture will take place two days before on Friday 22, meaning we’ll get a four day break before the traditional Boxing Day clash at home to Swansea City, something that will please Jurgen Klopp greatly.

Last season, our title push fell apart at the turn of the year due to fixture congestion, the absence of Sadio Mane and a sudden inability to find the back of the net.

Klopp’s squad this time round is much stronger, and we won’t have a League Cup semi-final to navigate either.

There’s no African Cup of Nations, so Mane and Mo Salah should both be available barring injury.

Still, we’ve got the rest of October and November to navigate first, which will decide if we’re still in the Champions League and if we’re competing for the top four.

Hopefully, the demolition job we did in Maribor will set the tone for a good run of wins.
