Following Mignolet’s horror-show, Keeper says he should be LFC’s no.1

Liverpool’s 19-year-old Polish stopper Kamil Grabara is eying the no.1 spot at Anfield.

Currently, the youngster is probably Liverpool’s fourth choice stopper, behind Simon Mignolet, Loris Karius and Danny Ward.

He keeps net for Liverpool’s U23s and has been in impressive form for the side that currently tops Premier League 2.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp has invited him to Melwood to train with the senior stoppers.

“To be training at Melwood is a good sign,” Grabara told the Echo.

“It’s always nice. I am looking to play for the first team but I know that’s currently far away. We will see what the future brings.”

Grabara has the physical traits to make it to the very top, but before he’s even considered, Ward must be given a proper run.

The young Welshman wasn’t sent on loan by Klopp, who rates him highly, but there doesn’t seem an opportunity to field him until January – when the FA Cup begins.

Following Mignolet’s mistakes against Spurs at the weekend though, we’d personally start Ward against Huddersfield – along with a number of other squad players.

At this stage, it can’t get much worse!
